First Gravel Event in the Evo

⊆ July 3rd, 2011 by evolved |

I finally did my first gravel event in the Evo — the Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs in New Richmon, Quebec. The event is very fast, technical, and is packed with spectators. Like Perce-Neige, our main goal was to finish the event with the car in one piece so that I can learn as much as possible.

We had some problems — the car was only making ~1/2 boost for the whole event, we damaged a rear shock and had to swap it, and the body work took a beating — but we managed to keep the shiny side up for the whole event. Best of all, our pace by the end of the event was within a few percent of the fast cars and we finished 20th overall.

Rather than the usual, boring blow-by-blow of the whole event, I figured I would let the photos from the event speak for themselves. Enjoy.
