≡ Our New Evo IX is Here!

It seems that a lot of people bought Evo VIII RS’s, thinking that they could live without power windows, sound deadening, etc., only to find out it made a terrible daily driver. There are a bunch of them available for sale for pennies on a dollar.
But can you really trust a used RS? :-/
I started shopping for a new RS about a month ago. I started out by filling out a lead form on Mitsubishi’s web site. As a marketing guy I’m always amazed how poor hot leads like mine are handled. After hearing from a couple of local dealers a few days leader, and having to deal with the usual Bay Area “MSRP plus mark-up” quotes, I was starting to get irritated by the whole process.
That’s when I found the guys at South Coast Mitsubishi in Los Angeles. They advertised brand new Evo IX’s well below MSRP. I PM’ed them on the message boards, and quickly secured a new Wicked White RS for just over $27k out the door!
There was no way I could get away for a day to go get the car, so my buddy Scott (my enduro co-driver and the guy in the left seat with me at the last two Targas) volunteered to fly down and pick up the car. A scant 600 miles and two tanks fo gas later, I have a freshly broken-in racecar-to-be sitting in my driveway.
